Normal delivery is the process in which the fetus is released through the mother's birth canal. Indications for normal delivery when there are no obstacles in the birth process such as: ► Mothers with good health can ensure that they can push and breathe to provide oxygen and nutrients to the baby during labor. ► Without any obstruction on the way out of the fetus ► The fetus is healthy enough to pass the birth canal: no prolapse of the umbilical cord, no fetal distress... ► The fetus is not too big (greater than 4000g). - Advantages ► After giving birth, the mother recovers quickly, can walk, eat, and can take care of her baby right after birth. After the first 2 hours, the mother can breastfeed, thereby protecting the mother's milk supply. ► Normal delivery helps the uterus contract better, reducing postpartum blood loss and limiting fluid retention. ► Newborn babies are usually breastfed after the first few hours to prevent hypoglycemia, which is favorable for the baby's growth and development. ► Babies born naturally, when passing through the mother's vagina, the baby's body will be exposed to beneficial microorganisms, thereby stimulating the baby's immune system. ► In the process of birth, the pressure of the birth canal helps the baby push out more fluid in the lungs than babies born by caesarean section, limiting the risk of respiratory diseases. - Defect ► Vaginal delivery also creates psychological stress, as the mother has to endure the pain and not know when labor will end ► Mothers have to wait for their due date, often deviating from the due date, so the mood is low and anxious ► Vaginal delivery can have some effect on the pelvic floor, leading to postpartum urinary incontinence. ► Some women cannot tolerate labor pain. ► In the process of giving birth, if there is a problem that will be difficult to handle or the mother is not strong enough to push, then the fetus has dropped down to the cervix. Today we finally get meet our handsome little baby boy, Lucas Von Spomer! This is the extended and unfiltered video of the delivery of our newborn baby son. The delivery portion of this video was shrunk down to 4 minutes in the birth vlog of Lucas, and we were asked so many times of the longer version of the delivery, so here you go! Honestly, we're really happy to share it, as you get to pretty much see just how fast baby Lucas was born as he pushed his own way out after just 3 contractions! We decided to induce for this pregnancy to ensure safety for our baby, as well for the mom. Our baby boy was delivered on Monday March 6th, 2023 at 11:07am, a time we will never forget. We are beyond thrilled to have a happy and healthy little man added to the family! My ultimate dream was to experience a natural birth. Sadly my first birthing experience turned out in an emergency c-section. After being told I would need a scheduled c-section by my doctor if it didn't start naturally by 41 weeks was heart breaking. But I pushed through and labour started at night on 41+4 weeks! Omg it’s time to give BIRTH. Of course I vlogged the whole thing. I am so so grateful that I had such a positive experience. Honestly, best day of my life. Come hang…my water breaks and it’s go time. We rush to the hospi, and get it poppin. I’m a mommmmm ahhhhhhh what even is life. This video is super vulnerable to post so PLEASE be nice in the comments lol. I had gestational diabetes (controlled with diet and insulin) and was diagnosed with gestational hypertension at 37 weeks which led up to an unexpected inducement at 37 weeks + 5 days. The birth of my little baby girl! Im 40 weeks 6 days and I was suppose to be induced but by the time I got to the hospital I was 6 cm dilated. I was still given Pitocin to speed up my labor because I wasn't making any progress. Very raw and real. Contractions started around 1:00 am & progressed so fast that we almost didn’t make it to the hospital. Eden was born at 3:51 am. When we arrived at the hospital, I was 10cm and ready to push. They could see the baby’s head! It happened so fast, the ER doctor had to deliver. My positive birth story vlog is here! I can’t tell you how wild it is to watch this back now that I'm almost 4 months postpartum. It really feels like this birth experience was a lifetime ago. I’ve been asked a lot about our birth story and what it was like for a first-time mom to give birth to her baby boy at 37 weeks! SO, without further ado, here is our labor and delivery storytime vlog! This was a hospital birth. CHAPTERS: 00:00-00:30 - intro 00:31-03:33 - losing mucus plug 03:34-05:36 - 3.5 months postpartum 05:37-10:57 - laboring at home 10:58-12:55 - going to the hospital 12:56-17:54 - in triage 17:55-20:07 - getting an epidural 20:08-25:59 - water breaking and labor pushing experience 26:00-27:13 - golden hour with baby This was definitely an unexpected early labor, but overall it was such a positive birth experience. Even the actual pushing was a positive labor experience for me! While I didn’t film too much of the real birth at the hospital (the hospital I delivered at didn't allow cameras in the delivery room), I wanted to be able to use this birth story video as a memory for me to look back on in the future. I wanted to be sure to either write or record everything I remembered about giving birth for the first time. The turth is, as soon as it's over, you really forget about the pain of giving birth. I even remember saying to Michael: "I'm never doing this again!" as I was having contractions...but then shortly after getting an epidural, I said: "I could do this again!" My epidural experience was amazing, as well, as you can see :) The human body is truly miraculous. I am so proud of my body for all it did to bring my baby boy earth-side! On Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at 2:27pm we welcomed our 6lb and 19inches long baby girl into the world. She arrived at 34 weeks and 6 days gestation and I began preterm labor 3 weeks prior to her arrival. She is an amazing little dream girl and we are so grateful for how healthy she is. This pregnancy felt entirely different from my other two babes. Aside from Covid changing everyone's world upside down, this pregnancy was a surprise and then I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks. Both my other babies were planned pregnancies and they were born full-term, my last baby even arrived on his due date. This was my first medicated delivery and as somebody who was really afraid of an epidural, my experience with one was very good. I am excited to tell you more in future videos but the short story is that this little sweetheart was a surprise and even her arrival was a surprise but we already know she is exactly what we needed. She is in the NICU currently but doing well and we will update everyone soon. Thank you so much for watching!
